Saretta Herman, MSW, RSW is Cofounder and Clinical Director at Layla Care, a business that is on a mission to empower people to take control of their mental health. Layla uses client-centric innovation to understand and address gaps in the ever-changing realities in mental health. Today, Layla is a service that facilitates personalized individual, couples, family, and group therapy directly to the public as well as in collaboration with partners in the broader healthcare sector.  Saretta brings over a 15 years of experience working in various mental health settings. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work where she is currently an Adjunct Lecturer.

Saretta started her post-graduate career working at the Clinic on Dupont where she practiced for over 5 years while also working in Children’s Mental Health in community, residential, and youth justice programs. She also spent 5 years as part of the Health and Wellness team at the University of Toronto. She has had a lot of experience helping to build Layla from a 5 person team to a 40 person team including people operations and culture, business strategy, program development and management, people management, and much more. She is passionate about issues of social justice and systemic issues that contribute to mental health challenges. She is interested in supporting people on an individual level and also holds a strong interest in organizational and systemic changes that can help improve people’s lives more generally.
